Waterfall Resort, Alaska

I’m still reeling from my trip to Waterfall Resort Alaska and I have to give a special shoutout to the man that made it all happen, Mr. Chuck Baird.

Chuck has been a great colleague, friend, and mentor since the day I met him and I’m grateful my first experience at Waterfall Resort was with Chuck fishing by my side (even if our rods did get tangled a few times).

Around 11 a.m. on day two of our Alaska fishing adventure, Chuck was expected to become a grandad. So at 11 a.m., I looked at Chuck and said, “It’s time for you to catch a fish for that baby!”

What I didn't know then is that I would be the one catching the fish, with Chuck by my side helping me through it. Shortly after my comment to Chuck is when I snagged my first King Salmon, which we immediately deemed a Queen for Baby Girl Bean.

Talk about a special moment that we will both always remember. Here’s to Chuck for being the best host and for introducing me to all the beauty Alaska has to offer. This was the first of what I know will be many trips to come.

Thank you for everything, Chuck! And congrats on becoming a Pappy.
